Kohl’s

To develop a six-month buying plan for the corporation Kohl’s.
The Ask:
This buying plan was completed with my project partner in the spring of 2024 for the Buying Simulation course. The initial part of the course involved gathering research and data on Kohl's, with our specific focus on psychographics. Using our findings, along with insights presented by our classmates, we developed an extensive six-month buying plan that also included an assortment plan and a written justification document. The main tasks that took on were, the executive summary, the 6-month plan, research on internal factors, assortment plan, and justifications of chosen vendors. Finally, we consolidated all of this work into a slide deck for an oral presentation (see bottom of this page).

Kohl’s
A significant factor in our decision-making process for formulating the sales plan was Kohl’s collaboration with Sephora. Initiated in 2021, Kohl’s began integrating Sephora-branded stores within their locations. This strategic move enhanced profitability and broadened Kohl’s target demographic. Given Kohl’s continued rollout of Sephora stores across additional locations, my partner and I projected a 3% sales increase in alignment with this expansion.
